Tillandsia leonamiana is native to Brazil where it grows and develops in forests and wetlands at latitudes ranging from 500 to 1400 metres above sea level. This velvety-leaved plant puts out a bract of very strong orange and red tones with white flowers. Its silvery grey leaves are due to the large amount of trichomes that cover it for the absorption of nutrients. Prefers bright direct light and doesn’t require too much water. It would also like good ventilation as well as medium to low humidity. (Currently not in bloom)
