Tillandsia tectorum grows on rocks in dry, sunny, high elevation regions in Peru and Ecuador. One of the most drought tolerant air plants that you can grow indoors. The unique appearance of Tillandsia tectorum is due to the large, fuzzy hairs or scales that serve a few purposes: Reflect strong solar radiation & capture water and nutrients blowing in the wind. Tectorum’s love a nice bright window and are best grown in temperatures in the 50-80F range. For this species, It is recommended to either mist your plant thoroughly, or give it a very quick dunk in a bowl of water (in and out immediately). It should dry out within 1-2 hours
